Engagement types
Clear bands so you know the scope of investment. We propose scope and price after a discovery conversation.
Why we publish bands
We want you to know the rough scope of investment before we have a conversation. Too many consultancies and dev shops hide pricing until late in the process, which wastes your time and theirs. We publish high-level bands for our four engagement types so you can self-assess: is this in the right ballpark for my budget? If yes, book a discovery call and we will propose a clear scope and price for your specific situation. If the bands are above what you have in mind, we may still be able to help (e.g. a smaller discovery or a different shape), but we would rather you know up front. The bands are not fixed price cards; they are typical ranges. Your engagement may be at the low end, the high end, or outside the range depending on scope. We will be transparent when we propose.
The four types are: discovery and validation (problem validation, scope, architecture, roadmap); proof of concept and pilot (ML pilot, API prototype, automation POC); product and feature build (lending feature, API product, workflow automation); and retainer (support, enhancements, and iteration after launch). Each type has its own page on this site with more detail on what you get, typical scope, and who it is for. We recommend reading the one or two that fit your situation and then booking a discovery call so we can align on your goals and propose the right engagement.

How we propose
After a discovery call, we will propose a scope, timeline, and price. We do not send a generic rate card; we tailor the proposal to your situation. If you need discovery first, we will propose a discovery engagement (scope, deliverable, price). If you are ready for a pilot or build, we will propose that with phases and milestones. If you want a retainer, we will propose a capacity level and rate. We are happy to work within your procurement process (e.g. SOW, MSA, NDA) and we can provide references or case studies when you are evaluating. We want you to have enough information to decide with confidence.
We work with banks, credit unions, and fintechs in the US and globally. Our typical first engagement is in the $40K to $175K range (discovery or pilot); larger builds and retainers follow when we have established trust and alignment. If you are ready to talk, book a discovery call. We will listen, ask questions, and tell you what we recommend and what it would cost.
What to expect after you book
When you book a discovery call, we will listen to your goals, your constraints, and your timeline. We will ask about the problem you are trying to solve, what you have already tried, and what success looks like. We will then tell you whether we are a fit and what we recommend: often a discovery engagement first to validate the problem and propose an approach, or a pilot if the problem is already well defined. We will give you a range for cost and timeline so you can decide. We do not send a generic rate card; we tailor the proposal to your situation. For more on how we scope and deliver, see our how we scope lending and ML projects and discovery to delivery posts. Our services and case studies describe what we deliver and proof points from past engagements.
